Philcoman Research Institute (PCMRI) will hold this year’s National Management Congress in a much simpler ceremony. The 40th celebration of the event will honor recipients of the Outstanding Corporation of the year Award, Outstanding Management Leadership Award of the year, and the oath-taking of new members.

According to PCMRI Congress chairman Dr. Pedrito Salvador, the event will be held on December 10 and will be attended by government officials and members of the academe and the private sector.

“We opted to hold a simple rite so that funds and other resources we can save can be channeled to research and further studies of important issues in politics, economics, sociology and national security,” the chairman said.

The PCMRI is a federation of professional and technological societies, management developments, institutions, academe, business enterprises and professional managers dedicated to the development of management and improvement of its practices.

According to the president of the National Federation of Tobacco Growers and Cooperatives, they are grateful for the commitments of Mighty Corp. to help the local tobacco farmers with their

He said that he was overwhelmed by the company’s firm commitment to help the local tobacco farmers. He also added that other local farmers have expressed relief that thei tobacco will be more
profitable in the local market.

“Now that we are assured of an alternative market, besides other tobacco companies, our members will again be inspired to devote larger areas to the cultivation of Ilocandia’s most important cash crop,”

Mighty Corp. Increases Tobacco Purchase from Local Farmers

The oldest Filipino-owned cigarette manufacturer, Mighty Corp., announced that it will substantially increase its tobacco purchase from domestic farmers nationwide.

This is in line with the company’s recent expansion due to the implementation of Republic Act 10351 or the Sin Tax Reform Law last 2012.

Mighty Corp. already submitted Letter of Intent to National Tobacco Administration for the planned increase of tobacco purchase.

The increase purchase will not only help Mighty Corp. compete in the tobacco industry effectively, but will also assure local farmers that the company will continue to support them.

Mighty Corporation Urges Local Farmers to Use Organic Pesticides

Mighty Corp. shows their love for the environment as they urge domestic farmers to use organic pesticides.

This will minimize the reliance of local farmers on chemical-based pesticides and will increase the number of organic-pesticides users in the country.

According to Oscar Barrientos, Mighty executive vice president and spokesman, the move was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility thrust. He added that the number farmers who use chemical-based pesticides are slowly decreasing while the amount of organic-based pesticides users are slowly growing.
